Handshake is a mentoring project involving contemporary jewellers from New Zealand matched with their chosen idols/mentors from across the globe, developing work for a series of national and international exhibitions.
About Kirsten
Kirsten Haydon is a New Zealander living in Melbourne, she completed her PhD in 2009 and is a lecturer at RMIT in the areas of enamelling, jewellery and object-making.
In December 2004, Haydon stepped onto the Antarctic ice as part of the NZ artists to Antarctica program. Ever since, her work has been a series of refined, poetic responses to her intimate Antarctic experience.
